Overweight bug

I have an issue where my character is showing 1250 weight despite having a completely empty inventory except for a cape. The cape duplicates everytime I try to drop it and its unable to be destroyed. I've tried dying numerous ways in hopes of fixing the issue but it still fails to fix it. The game is not playable for me as I am unable to freely move around. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mrmcnasty215 (talk).

Got a few questions for ya:

Did you die before experiencing this bug?
Have you tried restarting the DW Client?
Are you connected to a stable internet or a VPN?

Progress after early access

Abby whip

The new 0.8 update updated how to get the Abyssal Whip. You first have to kill the Abyssal Demon to get all of the supplies needed for the whip, then head over to the Bloodblight Swamp vault and interact with one of the dragonkin statues with a blue orb. You will then receive the recipe to create the whip on the smithing forge. Please let me know how this goes and reply here if you have questions! Keplare • (Talk) 05:14, 18 June 2025 (UTC)

You can find the dragonkin effigy with the blue orb when you are above the poisonous pool area, find the area where the rocks are blocking a wall on the top; see the picture here:

missing charcter

I played the game on release through Steam and recently got a new PC. I tried to get back into the game, but my character is gone. How do I retrieve my character? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dawgwalka (talk).

Hey there User:Dawgwalka, not sure if you can get back to your old computer, but if you can, do into your C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\SavedCharacters folder (may need to enable access to hidden files to access %APPDATA%) and transfer the contents inside the SaveCharacters file into your new Steam app on your new PC. If you don't have access, you might want to try going into the official RSDragonwilds Discord (https://discord.gg/rsdragonwilds) and going DM the ModMail bot in the user section on the right. Steam Deck graphics preset

Hi Team, I just bought the game on Steam and having fun so far with it but I have an issue with the graphic settings. I play on Steam Deck and the graphic settings seems to be locked under a Steam Deck preset. Everytime I try to change any of the settings, it would revert back to the Steam Deck preset after exiting the settings menu. Is it me or is this something that the devs have implemented? About deaths

If you die, your items will be in a gravestone until you retrieve it. This means you will have multiple gravestones if you die multiple times trying to get your initial gravestone. Keplare • (Talk) 23:48, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

the carachters sucks at jumping

what is the point of windstepo when it dosnt work og small spaces?? why does the champ stop juimping while on small spaces why the fuvk am i stuck and the only weat t o get free is to die and when i die, i want to reedeem my stuff right? BUT I HAVE TO DIE TO GET MY THINGS BECAUSE YOU SUCK AT MAKING GAMES

  You don’t need to die to get unstuck. Pause the game and hold X to safely teleport back to the Cathedral in Bramblemead.

Dragon Slayer quest

If after many attempts to complete Dragon Slayer quest with the different attack styles, I as so frustrated that this quest alone is keeping from accessing new territory. I have study videos but their attacks seemed to have alot more stanmina and faster movement than I am able to generate to move out of harms way. Are you really going to stop all chances to go to the new territory on this one quest? If this so, I have no reason to play anymore for this is nothing left to do. I have no desire to build things without it benefitting the improvement of moving forward.

User:Dukepheasant Yeah there’s been a lot of changes with combat and especially poison that not only affected the later stage bosses but also early ones like Velgar. I know you’ll need to bring a lot more antipoison especially after the 0.9 update in September, but also I’d recommend full iron armor, large wardstones, and food made from bittercap mushrooms. Accident

Good evening. I was deleting a world i was testing to see if even in single player mode it will still save. I didn't think it would delete the world I had already had progress of as well :/ I was making sure I had clicked on the testing one as well. Is there anyway I can get my main world back?

So i just booted up for the first time since I played when it came out. I used to play on a different PC so my local files are gone but, I still have access to that PC and could retrieve them. When I launched it asked me to link my Epic acc and I did. Hello, can you go to the following on your old PC (assuming you have windows)?

C:\Users\your_username_here\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\Logs
C:\Users\your_username_here\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\SaveCharacters
C:\Users\your_username_here\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\SaveGames

If you don't have your previous save, I would recommend joining the official RuneScape: Dragonwilds discord at discord.gg/rsdragonwilds and messaging the ModMail user, this will link your message with someone from Jagex's customer support. If you do have your previous save, I would recommend retrieving those saves and putting them in your new PC (but also confirm with ModMail as well as this talk page is sometimes not the best way to get tech support). Game will not load kicks me to main screen

The game worked well for months and then out of nowhere. My character was gone and then my world was gone.And I cannot load into any world.

Sorry to hear, bud! While I'm not sure how best to fix that issue, I'll instead ask if you have backed up your files through Steam? You could attempt to uninstall and re-install the game and Steam could restore your game files that way.
