Walkthrough

Speak to the Wise Old Man; he wants to teach you about Lifewards and how to recharge them. First, you will need to create a Rune Altar, requiring 12 stone and 4 Rune Essence. After you build the altar, create a small wardstone with 5 rune essence and one stone. It is recommended to make more (and possibly a higher-tier wardstone) for the next quest, Dragon Slayer.

After making the small wardstone, bring it to the Wise Old Man to complete this quest.
