Putrid Rats are found in the Whispering Swamp, the Bloodblight Swamp, and inside vaults. Putrid rats can hit the monster and fill up the poison debuff bar by up to 80% per hit. Thus, two successful hits from the rat can poison the player.

Sometimes a giant rat can feast on too much magic, suffusing themselves with the energies of their environment. For the putrid rat, they can take the pestilence, rot and decay into themselves, merging with the mushrooms and poisonous fungi that they consume.

These pitiful creatures have veins that pulse with poison and upon their deaths, the spores they create leave scars of rot in the world.
